Pirates "GRAYed" Out
Starting in 2009, WFE participated in ground-breaking anti-piracy programs for several of its titles. "iWatch," a anti-piracy program removed the hit film, THE GRAY MAN, from illegal world-wide servers. The IFTA and web-watcher IP Echelon teamed to create the "iWatch" program for the IFTA members into which WFE has entered many of its feature films: BITTER/SWEET, HOME MOVIE, LONELY STREET, PROTOTYPE and continues on THE GRAY MAN. This service was followed by ithe breakthrough P2P 'watch' of our films via Guardeley which seeks out downloaded files on individual computers. WFE's owner, Barbara Mudge, who chairs the IFTA copyright sub-committee, is very excited that these programs have become available to promote legitimate program viewing. Mudge says, "While I'm delighted that consumers want to watch our films, we encourage their legitimate usage making it possible for our producers to continue creating professional motion pictures of quality and talent." Mudge is working closely with the Guardaley management and will be attending meetings at the up-coming Cannes Film Festival to discuss their services with copyright holders and representatives.
